Assembled on August 18th, 2024 morning to get the insights of waste management.
Monthly dry waste collection monitored by the volunteers of Women Power, Roopanagar with the support of Namma Mysore Foundation (NMF) covers nearly every household in the locality. Since three years, volunteers conducted a monthly drive which garnered the good response from the residents.
Door To Door awareness on source segregation of waste as dry waste and wet waste was given to the residents in the beginning.
Participated delegates had one on one interaction with the women volunteers, Managing Trustee and Treasurer of NMF at collection Point.
Volunteers explained about the challenges faced in persuading residents to bring dry waste to collection point and providing end destination to non-recyclable waste. They underscored the intervention of Jagruth Tech Private Limited helping them in finding scientific disposal mechanism for non-recyclable waste.
Volunteers mentioned about NRI Roopa who is maintaining the documentation of drive from her resident in Canada.
NMF Founder Trustee Mrs Pavithra, Managing Trustee Dasharath K, Treasurer Dinesh Bopanna, Mr Chandan were present during the interaction.
Aftermath of their visit to Roopanagar Collection Point, team headed to Jagruth Tech Private Limited located in Vidyaranyapuram.
Mr Dinesh Bopanna, co-founder, offered valuable insights of the patented technology developed by JTPL to delegates.
Participants lauded the noble initiative that converting plastic waste into pavers which in turn reduces the carbon emission.
Delegates were from Kashmira, Haryana, Delhi, Meerut, Odisha and southern parts of the country working in environmental sectors.
